BAPTA Tetracesium salt is a metal chelator that is highly selective for binding Ca2+. The tetracesium salt of BAPTA is water soluble and may be loaded into live cells by microinjection, patch pipette infusion, scrape loading, bead loading, or ATP-induced permeabilization. BAPTA Tetracesium salt may be used as an intracellular Ca2+ buffer for investigations of the role of cytosolic Ca2+ and may also be used to buffer extracellular calcium ions and to formulate calcium buffers with defined Ca2+ concentrations. .
