EverFluor FL Hydrazide is an aldehyde and ketone-reactive analog of our green-fluorescent EverFluor FL dye. Hydrazides are useful for labeling and detection of polysaccharides and glycoproteins. When reacted with aldehydes and ketones, the hydrazide group yields a reversible Schiff base product that can be transformed to a stable linkage using a reducing agent like sodium borohydride or sodium cyanoborohydride. The hydrazide group may also be reacted with carboxylic acids using a carbodiimide coupling agent like the water-soluble EDAC. EverFluor FL Hydrazide is optimally excited at 503 nm and EverFluor FL-labeled conjugates are brightly fluorescent in both aqueous and lipid environments. .
