5-TMRIA is an orange-fluorescent, single isomer, thiol-reactive dye for synthesis of orange fluorescent biomolecules. The iodoacetamide group is relatively selective for reaction with thiol groups on peptides, proteins, and other thiol-containing biomolecules when reacted at pH below 7.5. Conjugates of 5-TMRIA are excited near 543 nm with fluorescence emission near 567 nm and are relatively photostable and insensitive to changes in environmental pH. 5-TMRIA is a purified single isomer label that is suitable for preparing conjugates that are purified by capillary electrophoresis or ion-exchange chromatography.
