EverFluor TMR-X PEG3-Azide is an orange-fluorescent dye that is reactive with alkyne moieties using the copper-catalyzed click reaction. Click chemistry is favored for labeling and detection of target molecules because the highly selective labeling reaction is fast and efficient with few side products, requires no special solvents or temperatures, and yields a stable linkage between the target and the label. EverFluor TMR-X PEG3 dye is optimally excited at 544 nm, non-ionic, and is relatively insensitive to environmental and pH changes. The seven-atom aminohexanoyl spacer combined with PEG-3 linker between the dye and it’s point of attachment reduce interactions of the dye and the biomolecule to which it has reacted. The resulting EverFluor FL PEG3-labeled conjugates are brightly fluorescent in both aqueous and lipid environments. .
