EverFluor 630/650 C₂-maleimide is a non-ionic, red-fluorescent thiol-reactive dye for synthesis of far red-fluorescent biomolecules. The maleimide group is relatively selective for reaction with thiol groups on amino acids, peptides, proteins, and thiol-modified nucleotides when reacted at pH less than pH 7.5. EverFluor 630/650 C₂-maleimide is optimally excited at 625 nm and is relatively environment and pH insensitive. The resulting EverFluor 630/650-labeled conjugates are brightly fluorescent in both aqueous and lipid environments.  .
