AMCA C2-maleimide is a UV light excitable, short wavelength, thiol-reactive fluorescent probe. AMCA is one of the brightest blue fluorescent probes available. The AMCA fluorophore is quite photostable and its fluorescence is pH-independent from pH 4 to 10. AMCA conjugates can be excited using a 365 nm UV source. The maleimide group is relatively selective for reaction with thiols at pH below 7.5. .
