EverFluor FL Ethylamine may be reversibly reacted with aldehydes and ketones to yield a Schiff base. The Schiff base can be reduced to form a stable amine derviative using sodium borohydride or sodium cyanoborohydride. EverFluor FL Ethylamine can also be reacted with a carboxylic acid moiety using a carbodiimide like EDAC or diisopropylcarbodiimide to yield a stable linkage. EverFluor FL is non-ionic, relatively insensitive to environmental and pH changes, and is brightly fluorescent in both aqueous and lipid environments. .
