Rhodamine phalloidin is the most widely used orange-fluorescent stain for F-actin. Phalloidin is a naturally occurring bicyclic peptide mycotoxin with a very high binding affinity for F-actin from many species including plant and animal sources. Rhodamine phalloidin is brightly fluorescent and highly selective for F-actin with very little non-specific staining. Rhodamine phalloidin is useful to visualize and quantify cytoskeletal proteins and is compatible with many of our other fluorescent cellular probes in multicolor imaging applications. Rhodamine phalloidin is excited near 540 nm and has a fluorescent emission near 565 nm. .
