6-TAMRA, SE is a purified single isomer, amine-reactive orange-fluorescent dye for synthesis of orange-fluorescent biomolecules. This single isomer dye has been used extensively in automated DNA and nucleic acid sequencing by capillary electrophoresis. 6-TAMRA, SE has also been used in single-molecule-detection applications as well as capillary electrophoresis of labeled carbohydrates. The activated SE ester is reactive with primary amines on peptides, proteins, modified nucleotides, biopolymers and other amine-containing biomolecules and yields a robust amide linkage. The absorbance spectrum of some 6-TAMRA conjugates may be dependent on the degree of labeling density and dye-dye interactions. Conjugates of 6-TAMRA are excited near 540 nm with fluorescence emission near 564 nm.
