SR B-X Alkyne is an orange-fluorescent dye that is reactive with azides using copper catalyzed click chemistry. Click chemistry is favored for labeling and detection of target molecules because the highly selective labeling reaction is fast and efficient with few side products, requires no special solvents or temperatures, and yields a stable linkage between the target and the label. Sulforhodamine B is a commonly used dye for preparation of fluorescently labeled protein, dextran, nucleotide, and oligonucleotide conjugates. The flexible, seven-atom spacer between the dye and its point of attachment may reduce interactions of the dye and the biomolecule to which it has reacted. SR B-X Alkyne is excited near 565 nm with a fluorescent emission near 586 nm. .
