EverFluor FL Penicillin is a green-fluorescent reagent for investigations of bacterial penicillin binding proteins (PBPs). PBPs are membrane-bound enzymes and targets of β-lactam antibiotics. PBP’s have been the subject of extensive molecular and genetic studies devoted to understanding of the mechanisms of bacterial resistance to β-lactam antibiotics. EverFluor FL Penicillin is a penicillin derivative that has a high binding affinity for PBPs and is useful as a rapid, sensitive, non-radioactive fluorescent probe for the detection and study of bacterial PBPs. .
