DiIC1(7) is a long-wavelength, membrane-potential sensitive, infrared-fluorescent dye. DiIC1(7) is a slow-response potentiometric fluorophore and has also been used as a laser dye for infrared lasers. In methanol, DiIC1(7) is optimally excited near 740 nm with fluorescence emission near 768 nm. .
