Rh 123 is a highly purified cell-permeant green-fluorescent dye that is selective for staining the functioning mitochondria of live cells. Rh 123 is a cationic dye that rapidly accumulates in active mitochondria but not the endoplasmic reticulum of live cells. Rh 123 has been used for investigations of apoptosis, bacterial viability, mitochondrial membrane potential, and multi-drug resistance in bacteria. Rh 123 is excited near 507 nm and a fluorescence emission near 529 nm. This is our *X-Pure* grade of Rh 123 that has a minimum HPLC purity of >98%. We also offer a standard purity grade of this product as item 6268.
