Vancomycin, EverFluor FL Conjugate is a green-fluorescent derivative of the antibiotic vancomycin that is useful for investigations of vancomycin binding and transport on cell membranes of bacteria. Vancomycin binds to the terminal D-alanyl-D-alanine moieties of peptidoglycan peptides found in cell walls of gram-positive bacteria. The brightly fluorescent EverFluor FL dye is optimally excited at 504 nm and is relatively insensitive to environmental and pH changes.
