Rhodamine 110, bis-(N-CBZ-L-leucine amide) is a fluorogenic enzyme substrate for leucine aminopeptidase and aminopeptidase M. Rhodamine 110, bis-(N-CBZ-L-leucine amide) is non-fluorescent and colorless until enzymatic activity results in cleavage of one of the amide bonds and converts the non-fluorescent bis-amide substrate into a highly fluorescent monoamide product. Enzymatic activity is detected by fluorescence with an excitation near 492 nm and emission near 523 nm. .
