Fluorescent labeling reagent for trace determination of enzymes and it can also be used as a fluorescence reference standard for AMC-based enzyme. It has also been used to prepare fluorogenic substrates for cystine aminopeptidase and extensively used in peptide conjugation (during which time it's fluorescence is lost until enzymatic cleavage, where it regains it's original fluorescence), i.e. caspace substrates.
