Orange-red fluorescent lipophilic carbocyanine, Dilinoleyl DiI is an unsaturated analog of DiI (#6381) that have identical absorption and emission spectra but it has much faster lateral diffusion rate in cell membranes than DiI (DiIC18(3)). It is highly fluorescent and photostable when incorporated into membranes. Useful probe for tracing neurons in tissues.
