β-EverFluor FL C12-HPC is a green-fluorescent analog of phosphatidyl choline for use as a lipid membrane probe. This brightly fluorescent probe has been used for investigations of lipid uptake, metabolism and storage in living tissues and organisms. This highly lipophilic probe has also been used to investigate the morphology and metabolic function of digestive organs, and for investigations of cell membrane trafficking and lipid domains by fluorescence microscopy. EverFluor FL C12-HPC dye is optimally excited at 505 nm, non-toxic, and is relatively insensitive to environmental and pH changes. .
