Di-6-ASP-PS is a neutrally charged, lipophilic fluorescent membrane probe. Di-6-ASP-PS is essentially non-fluorescent in aqueous environments but exhibits a significant fluorescence enhancement upon insertion in lipophilic membranes. The excitation and fluorescence emission are variable and are environmentally sensitive. Di-6-ASP-PS is excited near 495 nm and has an environmentally dependent fluorescence emission near 615 nm. .
