Cytochalasin D, EverFluor TMR Conjugate is an orange-fluorescent derivative of the naturally occurring mycotoxin, cytochalasin D. Cytochalasins bind to actin polymers with high affinity and act as potent inhibitors of actin polymerization. Cytochalasins may inhibit F-actin polymerization by cleaving actin filaments or by acting as a cap at the barbed end actin microfilaments. This probe is useful for live cell staining of actin filaments and may have applications as a fluorescent inhibitor of chemotaxis. EverFluor TMR dye is optimally excited near 544 nm with emission near 570 nm, it is non-ionic, and is relatively insensitive to environmental and pH changes.
