Indo-1, AM is a cell-permeant, fluorescent ion indicator for intracellular calcium ion measurements in live cells. Indo-1’s fluorescence response to ion-binding permits a ratiometric calculation of calcium ion concentration that cancels artifacts of photobleaching, dye concentration gradients, cell thickness and dye leakage. When excited at 350 nm, Indo-1’s fluorescence emission wavelength shifts from near 475 nm to near 400 nm upon binding of calcium ions. Indo-1 has been used as a fluorescent calcium ion indicator in a wide variety of living cells and tissues and is well-suited for use in flow cytometry applications. We have prepared this convenient to use 20 x 50 ug special packaging size, and we also offer Indo-1 AM formulated as a ready-to-use 1 mM solution in DMSO (product 6112) and as a dried solid in 1 mg units (product 6080). .
