ER-Hunt Red (EverFluor TR Glibenclamide) is cell-permeant, live-cell stain that localizes in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of living cells. Glibenclamide is a selective inhibitor of the ATP-dependent potassium channels that are abundant on the ER of most cells. This fluorescent probe has been used both as a selective ER stain and as a probe for sulfonylurea receptors related to ATP-dependent potassium channels. ER-Hunt Red is a bright, orange-fluorescent probe that is optimally excited near 588 nm with a fluorescence emission near 615 nm. ER-Hunt Red is relatively environment and pH insensitive. .
