Description

DiBAC4(3) is a slow-response, anionic, lipophilic green-fluorescent dye that is commonly used for measurements of plasma membrane voltage potentials in live cells. The anionic oxonol dye enters depolarized cells where it binds to membranes and proteins and exhibits an increase in fluorescence intensity. Increasing depolarization in the cells results in increased influx of the anionic dye and a corresponding increase in fluorescence intensity. Hyperpolarization in the cells indicated by a loss of fluorescence intensity within the labeled cells. DiBAC4(3) is excited near 493 nm with an environmentally dependent fluorescence emission near 517 nm. Please see other related products at the bottom of this page.
