Description
MitoHunt Red Mitochondrial Superoxide Indicator is a fluorogenic dye for investigations of mitochondrial superoxide. MitoHunt Red Mitochondrial Superoxide Indicator is a non-fluorescent, chemically reduced probe that is live-cell permeant. MitoHunt Red Mitochondrial Superoxide Indicator passively enters living cells and accumulates in functioning mitochondria where it is selectively oxidized by superoxide radicals to yield an orange-fluorescent product. The fluorescence is further enhanced after the oxidized probe binds to nucleic acids within the mitochondria. MitoHunt Red Mitochondrial Superoxide Indicator is not oxidized by ROS or RNS radicals and has been used for investigations of therapeutics that modulate oxidative stress in disease pathogenesis.
